Some of the most impactful and rewarding programs NewView Oklahoma offers are designed for those dealing with blindness and vision loss during their formative years – when investing time in education, training and confidence building can set the stage for a lifetime of success and personal freedom.
Camp activities are carefully planned and designed to encourage collaboration, improve confidence, self-esteem and independence as well as challenge societal and self-imposed limits through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities in an accessible environment. The focus is on capability rather than disability.
New activities are added each year to keep things challenging for return campers. Camp favorites have included: swimming, beep-ball, fishing, archery, arts and crafts, martial arts, shopping trips, basketball, hay rides, rock climbing, kayaking and dragon boat rowing on the Oklahoma River and an annual talent show.
